Department of Home Science
1. Goals/Objectives of Department:-
Home Science prepares the students not only for taking good care of their homes & families, but also equips them for a large variety of careers & vocations both in the industry & self employment.
It is an inter-disciplinary field of knowledge with focus on Food & Nutrition, Fabric & Apparel designing, Human Development, Family relations, Home management, Hygiene & Physiology.
2. Future Career Prospects:-
After graduation, the subject offers numerous career options. A few are:
- Teaching
- Child Development programme officer
- Anganwadi/Balwadi workers
- Creches/Day Care centers
- Quality Control Assistant
- Hospitality
- Owner of a bakery
- Fashion Designing & Textile Industry
- Boutique owner
- Interior Designer
Activities (2021-22):
- 3 days workshop organised by Home Science and Fashion Designing department in the guidance of Renu Jindal on Best out of Waste , Painting and printing, Tye and Dye and pot printing on 13-15th Dec.,2021
- Our students Kiran and Simran (B.A. -II) secured 1st position in Rangoli competition which was organised by Department of Botany of HAU on 21-23rd Dec.,2021. Sanju student of B.A. IInd year secured 1st position in Painting competition in the same.
